A very good happy hour (wed - fri). The nachos were the best deal, and the spring rolls were a close second. The lumpia were overpriced for the two rolls. I can see this place rocking for big sporting events with all of the TVs. There’s also a gas fireplace on the patio and a life size connect 4 game!
Upstairs is a quaint bar area with a huge patio with an ocean view.
I walked into this bar with friends. Waited about 15 minutes in line outside and payed a $5 cover. I can work with that. Got inside to wait 10-15 minutes to get a drink. Again nothing out of the ordinary and didn’t bother me. While I waited I noticed 2 bar tenders handing the payment terminal to customers and selecting the 22% tip option when they handed it to them. Essentially taking advantage of people drinking and trying to enjoy their atmosphere. This seemed morally wrong but I chose to look past it in hopes of a beer. I then walked up unsure between two drinks and wanted to decide based on how much a beer was. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Asked the bartender, “how much is a Pacifico?” He responded with “If you need to ask you can just leave”. The picture posted with this review is of this bartender. This seemed completely inappropriate and more work to tell me to leave and say all that then “$6””$7” whatever it may have been. I am a local and will not be returning to local pb as this was completely unprofessional and not how I would ever treat someone as someone who works in the customer service industry
So sad to be leaving this review. We’re PB locals and have been going there every weekend for 2 years but this Halloween night was a terrible experience. We were told at the front of the line that we could purchase a table w/ bottle service for $600. We were willing and ready to pay. We were told that there may not be any tables remaining, but they would go upstairs and check with the manager. No one ever came back down and we were then told that we could wait in a short line behind the bouncer and pay $30 a person to get in. We then waited behind the bouncer in a line with 10 other people for about half an hour. At this time, we were watching many people come up to the bouncer and immediately be let in. I imagine they were his friends and after 15 girls were let in we asked the bouncer when we would be able to pay to enter. He then proceeded to tell us that he had no idea why we were waiting in line behind him, that we were already told there were no tables available, and that we should get lost. He watched us stand in an imaginary line for 30 minutes and laughed in our faces after we VERY politely asked him what was going on. He was so angry and so rude after we were nothing but polite and waiting patiently. It seemed like he was on some sort of power trip and could not politely communicate that there was no tables and no line to pay to enter. He simply told us that we were all idiots. Such a waste of time and such a rancid, horrible vibe with the bouncer. Anyways, we went across the street to flamingo where the bouncers were amazing and accommodating, and we had a great time.
We went here for the Bills game on Sunday. The bar us very nice and our server was fantastic.
They had a special menu of food native to Buffalo, NY. I must say this was the worst beef on weck sandwich attempt I have ever seen and the pizza logs were no bueno. Not even close to authentic Buffalo food.
Still a nice experience though and I'll be back for drinks and the atmosphere only next time :)
We LOVE The Local! The service is amazing and the prices are really affordable, especially for being in the heart of PB! We hosted a get together the night before our wedding and Kayla was SO helpful in offering us the space that we needed. This spot is perfect to bring kids, dogs and we absolutely recommend it for a casual hang or big group party. Thank you for making our evening so special! :)
