Fish 101

The fish and chips (cod) was delicious. Very light batter and the fish was soft and really good. The fish tacos were okay but not as good. The chips were great. Chowder was great. We all loved the oysters. The dozen we had were fantastic.

This place totally exceeded my expectations even though reviews are very good. You'd expect this to be on a beach somewhere...kind of Fish Shackish. You order, get a number and sit at a table inside or out and they bring your food. Very informal though on Friday night it was a bit chaotic...in a good way. I ordered clam chowder and fish and chips though they had other interesting choices. I was pleasantly surprised by the serving size of the 3 piece fish and chips. Could easily feed 2 people but I ate it all. Crunchy batter, mild flavor and no greasy/oily smell or taste. The chowder was good two and on a busy night, it didn't take long and the price was right too. I don't give a lot of "all 5" reviews. Fish 101 earned this one. My only regret is I don't live here so I can't have it again. ☹️

Drove by this place so many times and figured it was finally time to try it out. Got the King Salmon burrito and it did not disappoint! About $10 more expensive than their other burritos, but that makes sense since even at the grocery stores/Costco king salmon is more than the other kinds (Atlantic, etc). Service was prompt and I got the burrito within about 10-15 minutes.

I have never been a huge fan of cooked fish for most of my life, but good fish tacos and good fish and chips have changed that (as well as grilled whole fish like in Mexico). Fish 101 has GREAT food. The fish is perfect, and they made all the dishes and sides as good as any other place I have probably ever had. The fish tacos with the salsa are excellent. Highly recommend. The restaurant looks like a converted house complete with a covered back patio. It's all pretty cool and provides a unique atmosphere.
